Your Separation Roadmap

A clear roadmap for your next steps through separation

Separation Roadmap

Thinking about separating or already separated, but feeling completely clueless about what happens next?

A six-week programme helping parents understand the separation process, make sense of the decisions ahead and build their own practical plan for moving forward.

You might be worrying about your finances, wondering whether you can afford to stay in the family home, or struggling to understand what actually happens when you separate.

And with everything else you're dealing with, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.

Separation Roadmap is a six-week programme helping you understand the process, get clearer on the decisions ahead and build your own practical action plan, one step at a time.

So instead of wondering what you're supposed to do next, you'll have a clearer understanding of your priorities and a plan to help you move forward.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You don't know where to start or what you're supposed to do first.

  • You're worried about your finances and whether you can afford to stay in your home.

  • You don't understand the separation or divorce process and feel overwhelmed by the information.

  • You're concerned about spending money on solicitors without knowing what questions to ask.

  • Your ex isn't engaging, and you're unsure how to move things forward.

  • You're trying to make sensible decisions while managing your emotions and supporting your children

You don't need to have all the answers before you begin.

You need a clearer understanding of what's involved, what matters for your circumstances and where to focus your attention.

That's what Separation Roadmap is here to help you with.

Introducing Separation Roadmap

Six weeks to understand what lies ahead and create your own practical plan for separation.

When you're facing separation, there are so many things to think about.

Finances. Legal processes. Your home. Your children. Communication with your ex. Decisions about your future.

And when you're already dealing with the emotional impact of a relationship ending, it can be difficult to know what to tackle first.

Separation Roadmap is designed to help you make sense of the practicalities, understand the decisions you may need to make and work out what matters most for your circumstances.

Build your own Separation Roadmap as you go

This isn't about giving you lots of information and leaving you to work out what to do with it.

Each week, you'll take what you've learned and use it to build your own practical plan.

You'll identify what information you need to gather, the questions you want answered, the decisions you need to consider and the steps you can take next.

By the end of the six weeks, you'll have your own personalised Separation Roadmap, giving you a clearer picture of your priorities, what needs addressing and where you may need professional advice.

So rather than feeling completely clueless about what happens next, you'll have a plan you can refer back to as you move forward.

Your six-week Separation Roadmap

Week 1: Understanding the separation process

What actually happens when you separate?

We'll look at the different stages of separation and divorce, the terminology you may come across, the decisions that may need to be made and the different types of professional support available.

Your roadmap: Start identifying your priorities, questions and first steps.

Week 2: Getting clear on your finances

Understand the financial information you may need, including income, expenditure, property, pensions, assets and debts.

Your roadmap: Identify what you know, what information you need to gather and what questions still need answering.

Week 3: Understanding financial decisions in divorce

Financial decisions can feel complicated, particularly when you're unsure what needs to be considered or how agreements are reached.

We'll explore the main financial matters that may need resolving, the different ways decisions can be approached and where individual professional advice may be important.

Your roadmap: Record your financial priorities, questions and next steps.

Week 4: Managing difficult communication

Communication during separation can be challenging, especially when emotions are running high or you're struggling to have productive conversations.

We'll look at practical ways to approach difficult discussions, communicate more clearly and establish appropriate boundaries.

We'll also recognise that direct communication isn't always safe or appropriate, particularly where controlling or abusive behaviour is involved.

Your roadmap: Consider the communication arrangements, boundaries and support that are appropriate for your situation.

Week 5: Supporting your children through separation

When you have children, their wellbeing is often one of your biggest concerns.

We'll explore how separation can affect children, what they may need from their parents and practical ways to support them through changes to family life.

Your roadmap: Identify the steps you can take to support your children and the arrangements or questions you need to consider.

Week 6: Bringing your Separation Roadmap together

This is where everything comes together.

You'll review what you've learned and the plan you've been developing throughout the programme.

We'll look at your priorities, outstanding questions, sources of support and the actions you want to take next.

Your roadmap: Leave with a practical, personalised action plan to help guide your next steps

What you'll get inside Separation Roadmap

Six weekly recorded sessions

At the beginning of each week, you'll receive a recorded session covering that week's topic.

You can watch it at a time that suits you and revisit the information as you work through the programme.

Six live group Q&A sessions

Each week, you'll have the opportunity to join a 60-minute live Q&A session.

These sessions give you the chance to ask questions about the programme content, get clarification and receive guidance as you build your roadmap.

To offer some flexibility, three sessions will take place at lunchtime and three in the evening.

If you can't attend, you'll be able to submit questions in advance. General learning points and useful resources will be shared afterwards, without circulating recordings of personal group discussions.

Email support between sessions

Questions often come up when you're working through information in your own time.

You'll be able to email questions about the programme content throughout the six weeks. I'll respond within two working days.

Your own Separation Roadmap

You'll receive a practical roadmap resource to complete as you work through each week.

By the end, you'll have brought together your priorities, questions, information to gather and next steps in one place.

A small, supportive group

There will be a maximum of six participants.

You'll have the opportunity to learn alongside other parents facing separation, with clear expectations around privacy, respect and sensitive discussions.

What will you take away from Separation Roadmap?

By the end of the six weeks, the aim is for you to:

  • Better understand the separation and divorce process.

  • Have a clearer picture of the financial information and decisions you need to consider.

  • Know what questions you want to ask solicitors, mediators or other professionals.

  • Feel better prepared to approach communication and decisions about your children.

  • Understand which issues need your attention and which may require specialist advice.

  • Have your own practical Separation Roadmap, setting out your priorities and next steps.

You might not have every issue resolved in six weeks. But you can have a much clearer idea of what to do next.

Is Separation Roadmap right for you?

This programme could be a good fit if:

  • You're a parent thinking about separation and want to understand what may lie ahead.

  • You've recently separated and aren't sure where to start.

  • You want practical information without having to work everything out on your own.

  • You're feeling overwhelmed by the decisions ahead and would benefit from a structured approach.

  • You'd like guidance as you build a plan for your own circumstances.

You don't need to be at a particular stage of separation to join.

An important note: Separation Roadmap provides general information, education and coaching support. It does not offer individual legal or financial advice, mediation, or crisis support. If you are experiencing domestic abuse, coercive control or immediate safety concerns, specialist individual support may be more appropriate. We can discuss whether the group format is suitable before you join.

Hi, I'm Cath

I'm a Separation and Divorce Coach and former primary headteacher. I've supported many clients through the challenges of separation and divorce, and I've seen just how overwhelming it can feel when you're faced with financial worries, unfamiliar processes and so many decisions to make.

I'm not here to give you legal advice or tell you what decisions to make. I'm here to help you understand what's involved, get clearer on your options and work out the practical steps you need to take for yourself and your family.

That's exactly why I created Separation Roadmap. To help you feel better informed, more prepared and have your own clear plan for moving forward.

Frequently asked questions

I'm only thinking about separating. Is it too early to join?

No. Separation Roadmap is for parents who are considering separation as well as those who have already separated. You can use the information to understand what may lie ahead and consider your next steps.

What if I've already separated?

You can still benefit from the programme. You'll be able to focus on the areas that are most relevant to your current circumstances and build your roadmap from there.

What if I can't attend the live sessions?

The weekly teaching is recorded, so you can watch it when it suits you. You can also submit questions ahead of the live Q&A sessions and receive the general learning points shared afterwards.

Will you tell me what I'm legally entitled to?

No. Separation Roadmap helps you understand the issues and processes you may need to consider, but it does not provide legal advice about your individual circumstances.

Where appropriate, you'll be encouraged to seek advice from a qualified solicitor or other relevant professional.

Will this help me save money on legal fees?

The programme can help you become more informed and better prepared for conversations with professionals, including understanding what information to gather and what questions to ask.

It cannot guarantee a reduction in legal costs or replace professional advice.

Will I have to share personal details with the group?

You'll be encouraged to participate in ways that feel appropriate for you. You won't be expected to disclose sensitive details you aren't comfortable sharing.

Group discussions will have clear privacy expectations, although confidentiality between participants cannot be absolutely guaranteed.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. You can pay £297 in full or choose three payments of £99.

You don't have to work everything out at once

If you're facing separation, it's understandable to have questions about your finances, your children, the process and what your future might look like.

Separation Roadmap gives you a structured way to start finding answers and deciding what to do next.

Six weeks. Practical information. Support along the way. Your own Separation Roadmap.

Investment? £297 or pay in 3 monthly payments of £99 each
