Separation & Divorce Clarity Call

A call to explore your situation and challenges

Separation & Divorce Clarity Call

Your marriage is ending, or has already ended. But now you've got so much to deal with, you don't know where to start.

A private, 60-90 minute coaching session to help you talk through the challenges you're facing, work out what needs your attention and get clearer about your next steps.

You don't need someone giving you another hundred things to think about.

You need help making sense of what's happening in your own life.

60-90 minutes | £149 | One-to-one with me

You thought making the decision to separate would be the hardest part.

Perhaps you made the decision to leave. Or perhaps your spouse made that decision for you. Either way, you're now dealing with a whole new set of questions.

How do I manage conversations with my ex when everything seems to turn into an argument?

What do I say to the children?

How do we make arrangements when we can't agree on anything?

How am I supposed to get on with everyday life when there's so much going on?

You might have a solicitor helping you with the legal side. You might have friends and family offering their opinions. And you've probably spent hours searching online for answers. But you're still lying awake thinking about everything that could happen next.

Because separation and divorce aren't just legal processes.

They're something you're trying to live through while still going to work, looking after your family and keeping everyday life going.

And sometimes, even when you're normally perfectly capable of dealing with difficult situations, this all feels like too much.

What if you could talk through what's happening with someone who understands?

Someone who understands the personal and practical challenges of separation. Someone who won't judge you for how you're feeling. Someone who can help you work out which problems need your attention, rather than trying to solve everything at once.

That's what the Separation & Divorce Clarity Call is for.

It's a private, one-to-one coaching session where we focus on what's happening in your life right now.

You might be struggling to communicate with your ex. You might be worried about how the separation is affecting your children. Or perhaps you're finding it difficult to make decisions because every option seems to come with another problem.

We'll talk through your situation, what's worrying you most and what you've already tried. I'll listen, ask questions and help you consider what you can do next.

The aim isn't to sort out your entire divorce in 60 minutes. It's to help you leave knowing what deserves your attention next.

What can we talk about during your call?

Every separation is different, so the conversation will be shaped around what matters most to you.

That might include:

  • Communication with your ex. How to approach difficult conversations, manage disagreements and avoid getting drawn into the same arguments.

  • Your children. Concerns about how they're coping, co-parenting challenges or conversations you're unsure how to handle.

  • Feeling overwhelmed. When you're trying to deal with today's problems while worrying about everything that might happen in the future.

  • Decisions you're struggling with. Talking through your concerns, considering different perspectives and identifying what information you still need.

  • What happens next. Working out what you can take action on now, what can wait and where you might need support from another professional.

You don't need to have everything organised before we speak.

You don't need a list of perfectly worded questions.

And you certainly don't need to have your divorce all figured out.

We'll start with what's happening for you.

What could you take away from the call?

My aim is that you finish our conversation feeling less overwhelmed and clearer about what to focus on.

You might leave with:

  • A better understanding of which issues need your attention now and which can wait.

  • A different way of approaching a difficult conversation with your ex.

  • More clarity about a co-parenting problem that's been worrying you.

  • A clearer idea of what questions you need to ask your solicitor or another professional.

  • One or two realistic next steps you can take after our conversation.

We won't necessarily resolve every problem in one session.

But you may find that once you've had the opportunity to talk things through, the situation feels a little more manageable.

You don't need to have the whole future sorted. You need to know where to start.

Why work with me?

I'm a coach, qualified family mediator and former primary school headteacher.

I've supported people through separation, divorce and co-parenting challenges, helping them deal with the personal and practical difficulties that can come with family change.

But my understanding isn't only professional.

I've been through divorce myself.

I know what it's like when the life you expected changes and you're suddenly faced with decisions you never imagined having to make. And I know that even when you've got professional advice, there can still be so many questions about how you're supposed to manage everything else.

My background in education has also given me years of experience working with children and families, while my mediation work has shown me how easily communication can become difficult when emotions are running high.

I won't pretend to have all the answers to your particular situation and I won't tell you what decisions you should make.

What I will do is bring my experience, ask thoughtful questions and help you work out a realistic way forward.

This is coaching, not legal or financial advice

If you're going through divorce, you may need advice from a solicitor or another appropriately qualified professional about your legal rights, financial arrangements or the divorce process.

That's not what this session provides.

I won't tell you what you're legally entitled to, what financial settlement to accept or what you should agree to in court. What we can do is talk through the personal and practical challenges you're dealing with, consider how to approach difficult situations and help you identify questions to take to the right professionals.

This call is designed to complement specialist advice, not replace it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be getting divorced to book?

No. You might have recently separated, be in the early stages of divorce or be dealing with challenges some time after your marriage ended.

The call is for people who want individual support with the difficulties they're facing.

Can you help me work out what I'm entitled to financially?

No. I don't provide legal or financial advice. Those questions need to go to a qualified solicitor or financial professional.

We can, however, talk through the concerns you're having and help you identify what information you need to seek.

Can we talk about problems with my ex?

Yes. Communication difficulties, disagreements and co-parenting challenges are all things we can explore.

We'll focus on your situation, your choices and what you can realistically influence, rather than trying to change your ex's behaviour.

Can you help with co-parenting?

Yes. We can talk about challenges you're experiencing, difficult conversations, children's needs and ways to approach co-parenting situations.

This is individual coaching, rather than a joint mediation session or a legal assessment of parenting arrangements.

Do I need to bring my ex to the call?

No. This is a private, individual coaching session just for you.

What if I need more than one session?

That's absolutely fine.

The Clarity Call is a standalone session, so there's no obligation to continue. If you'd like ongoing support, we can discuss further coaching sessions or a package afterwards.

What if I'm not sure whether coaching is what I need?

If you're looking for legal advice about divorce, a financial settlement or court proceedings, you'll need the relevant specialist.

If you're struggling with the personal challenges of separation, communication, co-parenting or knowing what to focus on next, this session may be a good starting point.

You don't have to deal with everything at once.

Separation and divorce can leave you feeling as though there's always another problem to solve.

Another conversation to have.

Another decision to make.

Another thing to worry about.

But not everything needs to be sorted today.

Sometimes the most useful thing you can do is work out what actually needs your attention next.

That's what we'll focus on together.

Separation & Divorce Clarity Call — 60-90 minutes | £149

This is an individual coaching session, not legal advice, financial advice, therapy or formal family mediation. If you're experiencing abuse or coercive control, specialist domestic abuse support may be more appropriate.

You don't have to work out the future of your marriage today.

But if you've been questioning your relationship for a long time, you may be ready to stop trying to work everything out on your own.

Whether there's something left worth trying, you're beginning to consider separation or you're simply unsure, you deserve the opportunity to explore your situation without being pushed towards a decision.

Let's talk about where you are now and what your next step could be.

The Crossroads Call — 60-90 minutes | £149

The Crossroads Call is individual coaching, not couples counselling, therapy or legal advice. If you're experiencing abuse or coercive control, specialist domestic abuse support is more appropriate.

Hi, I'm Cath

I'm Cath Cooke, a coach, qualified family mediator and former primary school headteacher. I've supported many people through separation, divorce and co-parenting, helping them deal with the difficult conversations, decisions and changes that come with the end of a marriage.

I've also been through divorce myself, so I understand that even when you've got professional advice, there can still be so many questions about how you're supposed to manage everything else.

Through my work as a mediator and my background in education, I've seen how difficult communication can become when emotions are running high, particularly when children are involved.

I know that separation and divorce aren't just about legal paperwork and financial arrangements. They're about trying to keep everyday life going while dealing with uncertainty, difficult emotions and decisions that can affect your whole family.

I'm not here to give you legal or financial advice, or tell you what decisions to make. I'm here to help you talk through what's happening, consider your options and work out what needs your attention next.

That's exactly why I offer the Separation & Divorce Clarity Call. A private conversation focused on your particular situation, so you can stop trying to deal with everything at once and start working out your next steps.
