Crossroads Call
A call to explore your options
The Crossroads Call
You've been unhappy in your marriage for a long time. But you still don't know what to do.
A private, 60-90 minute coaching session to help you make sense of what's happening in your marriage, explore your options and get clearer about your next step.
You don't have to decide whether to stay or leave. You just need somewhere to start.
90 minutes | £149 | One-to-one with Catherine Cooke
You can't keep going round in circles forever.
Perhaps you've been unhappy in your marriage for months. Maybe it's been years.
You feel disconnected from your spouse. The closeness you once had has faded, and you wonder whether you'll ever get it back.
You've tried talking about things. Perhaps you've been to marriage counselling. Maybe things improve for a little while, but somehow you end up back in the same place.
And now you don't know what else to do.
Part of you wonders whether your marriage could still work.
Another part wonders whether you've simply had enough.
But leaving feels frightening.
There's your family to think about. Your home, your finances, your children if you have them, and the life you've spent years building together.
And perhaps the hardest thing is that your spouse isn't a bad person.
You might still care about them deeply.
So why are you so unhappy? And what are you supposed to do about it?
You keep thinking about it, looking for answers, trying to work out what's right.
But the more you think, the more confused you feel.
What if you could talk it through with someone who understands?
Someone who won't tell you to leave.
Someone who won't insist you should keep trying.
And someone who understands that a marriage can be deeply unhappy without either person being a bad person.
That's what the Crossroads Call is for.
It's a private, one-to-one coaching session where we focus entirely on your relationship and the questions you've been struggling with.
We'll talk about what's been happening, what you've already tried, what you want from your marriage and what's making it so difficult to know what to do.
I'll listen, ask questions and help you consider things you may not have thought about.
Because sometimes, when you've been living with the same problems for years, it can be difficult to see your situation from a different perspective.
The aim isn't to make a final decision about your marriage in an hour. It's to help you understand where you are now and identify a realistic next step.
What we'll explore during your Crossroads Call
Every marriage is different, so our conversation will focus on what's most important to you.
That might include:
What's happening in your marriage now. How things have changed, what you're unhappy about and how long you've been feeling this way.
What you've already tried. The conversations you've had, the changes you've attempted and whether there's anything you haven't yet considered.
What you actually want. Not what your spouse, family or friends might want, but what matters to you.
What's keeping you stuck. Whether that's uncertainty, guilt, fear of regret or worries about what leaving might mean.
What comes next. A realistic step you can take after our conversation, without needing to decide the future of your whole marriage.
You don't need to prepare the perfect explanation of what's wrong.
And you don't need to know what outcome you want before we speak.
That's part of what we'll explore together.
What could you take away from the call?
My aim is that you finish our conversation feeling clearer about your situation than when you arrived.
You may begin to understand why you've been feeling so stuck.
You might recognise something about your relationship that you hadn't considered before.
You may realise there's a conversation you need to have, something different you'd like to try or an aspect of separation you need to understand better.
Or you might recognise that you need more time to work out what you want.
Whatever comes up, we'll work towards identifying one realistic next step that makes sense for you.
Not a decision somebody else has made for you.
Not a promise that everything will work out in a particular way.
A next step that's yours.
Why work with me?
I'm Catherine Cooke, a coach, mediator and former primary school headteacher.
I've supported many people through separation and divorce, and I understand how complicated life can become when a relationship is no longer working.
But my understanding isn't only professional.
I've been through divorce myself.
After my first marriage ended, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what had happened, including my own part in the relationship.
One of the biggest things I came to recognise was how I handled arguments and expressed my needs.
I'm now remarried, and those lessons have influenced how I approach my relationship today.
I understand how easily couples can become disconnected, how patterns develop over time and why simply loving somebody doesn't always mean a relationship is working.
I also understand that questioning your marriage doesn't automatically mean you want it to end.
Sometimes there are things worth exploring.
Sometimes you've reached a point where you don't know whether you want to keep trying.
And sometimes the fear of what might happen if you leave makes it difficult to understand what you really want.
I won't pretend to know what's right for your marriage after hearing one side of the story.
And I won't tell you whether you should stay or leave.
What I will do is bring my experience, ask thoughtful questions and help you look at your situation with greater clarity.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know whether I want to stay or leave?
No. The Crossroads Call is specifically for people who are uncertain about their marriage. You don't need to have made any decisions before booking.
Will you tell me whether I should leave my spouse?
No. That's not my decision to make. I'll help you explore your circumstances and options, but the choices you make about your marriage remain yours.
Is this marriage counselling?
No. This is an individual coaching session focused on helping you understand your situation and consider your next step. It's not couples counselling or therapy.
Does my spouse need to attend?
No. The Crossroads Call is just for you. Your spouse doesn't need to know you're exploring your feelings or attend the session.
Will I need more sessions afterwards?
Not necessarily. The Crossroads Call is a standalone session, and there's no obligation to book anything else. If you decide you'd like further support, we can discuss that, but it's entirely your choice.
What if I'm worried about the practical consequences of separating?
We can explore the worries that are making it difficult for you to move forward and consider what information or specialist support you might need. I don't provide legal or financial advice.
You don't have to work out the future of your marriage today.
But if you've been questioning your relationship for a long time, you may be ready to stop trying to work everything out on your own.
Whether there's something left worth trying, you're beginning to consider separation or you're simply unsure, you deserve the opportunity to explore your situation without being pushed towards a decision.
Let's talk about where you are now and what your next step could be.

The Crossroads Call is individual coaching, not couples counselling, therapy or legal advice. If you're experiencing abuse or coercive control, specialist domestic abuse support is more appropriate.
Hi, I'm Cath
I'm Cath Cooke, a coach, mediator and former primary school headteacher. I've supported many people through separation and divorce, and I know how difficult it can be when you're unhappy in your marriage but aren't sure whether you want to leave.
I've also experienced divorce myself. Looking back at my first marriage, I spent time reflecting on what went wrong, including how I handled disagreements and expressed my own needs. Those lessons have changed how I approach my marriage today.
Through both my personal and professional experience, I've come to understand how relationships can become disconnected over time, why the same problems keep coming back and how difficult it can be to know whether things could improve.
I'm not here to tell you whether to stay or leave. I'm here to help you consider what's happening in your relationship, what might still be possible and what you actually want.
That's exactly why I created Is It Too Late? To help you look at your marriage from a different perspective, explore whether there's anything left worth trying and begin to get clearer about your next step.
